"Support Our Troops" is a popular slogan. For some people, sadly, this is where their "support" both begins and ends. For other people, of course, "Support Our Troops" is highly personal. It may mean: "Support my husband or wife, my father or mother, my sister or brother, or my child" who are often deployed far away from their homes and families and are put in harms way to defend our Country, our values and our freedom
Such sacrifices should not to be taken lightly indeed, they are to be commended and supported. SOS Freedom Bridges the Financial Gap by Helping With but not limited to:
• Household repairs or medically necessitated modifications
• Urgent or critical healthcare needs
• Counseling or support groups
• Transportation, automotive repair/needs
Although Support Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc. is a fairly new organization, we have already begun to make a big difference in the lives of servicemen and women. For example, we were able to make daily life a little bit easier for a mother of five whose husband was killed in action.

We were established in 2015 by the wife of a Lieutenant Colonel with the goal of aiding veterans and active duty military. Having seen the hardships that our veterans and active duty military face on a daily basis she decided that she wanted to help and founded Support Our Soldiers Freedom, Inc. to distribute aid on a local level.
Our main fundraiser, The Essence of Freedom Run 5k/10k, was created as the primary fundraising event for S.O.S. Freedom. This allowed the founder to combine her love of running with helping those in need. Although our founder/president puts in countless hours of work with S.O.S. Freedom she receives absolutely no monetary compensation; she volunteers her time and hard work.

Sponsors for the Essence Of Freedom Run 5K/10K get the kind of versatile visibility that is hard to come by in a single investment! Your company logo is prominently placed on websites, newsletters, direct marketing e-blasts to over 25,000 emails along the North Shore of Chicago, print ads, radio, television and t-shirts. The race t-shirt alone are a moving billboard! Due to the American theme our t-shirts are worn year round with pride! The Essence Of Freedom Run is advertised in almost all running directories nation wide. In addition, some sponsors will be recognized on the race registration form, start/finish banners or even as the presenting sponsor...for 1-full year! Also, should you choose, your product is available for nearly 1,000 race participants and spectators.
Race participants come from all over the greater Chicago area and throughout Illinois, but nearly 15% come from surrounding Wisconsin, Indiana and Michigan. 3% of participants are visiting and choose our event due to the popularity and inspirational message we all want to send to those who sacrificed.

Thank you for your interest in helping to raise funds for S.O.S. Freedom, Inc. with some of your own grassroots fundraising. These are just some ideas to get you get started thinking. Be creative and have fun. We are available to help as best we can, every step of the way. The main focus is:
• To Raise funds for essential living expenses that our
government does not provide enough or no funds for.
• To let those who sacrificed for our freedom know
that we support them and thank them.
• Create some fun!

Once we receive your information, we’ll do everything we can to help make your event a success. We can work to publicize your event. We can help determine whether a state permit or license is necessary for your fundraiser, and help file any necessary paperwork.

Pictures, pictures and more pictures!
We want to brag about your event in our newsletter and on our website. Send your pictures along with a paragraph or two telling us about your event. Please try to include group photos with the event leadership. Make sure that you are in a few photos also.
Identify the people in the photos by name. Remember to include your event name, date, and the location of your event. REMEMBER: You must have permission from people in the pictures you wish to share on social media.
SOS FREEDOM, INC. is happy to help you in planning your fundraising event by offering the following:
• Permission to use the Foundation’s name and logo for the event
• Advertising in the Foundation’s e-blasts and on the website
• Provide materials for distribution
• Guidance and suggestions with event planning
We have developed the following guidelines regarding all Fundraising events that benefit the Veterans and their families helped by S.O.S. Freedom.
• S.O.S. Freedom will notify the applicant of the status of the fundraising event within seven days of receipt.
• S.O.S. Freedom requires all proceeds and a final income/expense report be submitted to the Foundation office within thirty days following the event.
• Third parties are prohibited from setting up a separate bank account in the Foundation’s name in conjunction with the fundraising event.
